Grandma's Chewy Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Believe it or not, when me and my cousins were young, one of our favorite snacks at Grandma 's house was to eat her raw oats!  She would give us a small cup of oats and send us out of the kitchen so she could do her baking, canning, or meal preparations.  Another of our treats were to get on of hers or Great Aunt Jewel's (who lived just down the road from Grandma) dill pickles to chomp on as we ran and played outside.

Below is Grandma's recipe for wonderful and tasty oatmeal cookies.  If you prefer a slightly crunchy cookie, cher out her crispy low-calories cookie version as well.
