Fireworks are a symbol of the wars fought to gain United States freedom from British rule. Although firework displays are rampant around this date, they are not the primary purpose of this national holiday. Instead, think of the sacrifices made so that you may have the freedoms you do, how lucky you are to live in the USA where your rights are not limited, and how fortunate the world is that a country exists that is so willing to help other nationalities.
